These are a little closer shots of the Reed Engine

The Reed was used as the main engine power for the

operation of several oil wells. It was centrally located

and ran "drag lines" to the wells to provide operating power.

The weekend of June 16th & 17th we attended the

O.A.T.A. Tractor & Gas Engine show

  O.A.T.A._6-2006_015.jpg (97128 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_016.jpg (92461 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_017.jpg (93316 bytes)

We took our Caterpillar Gas engine along to show it off for the first time, It had not been started or run in over 10 years, we dragged it off the trailer and went to work on it.

O.A.T.A._6-2006_018.jpg (105980 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_019.jpg (88191 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_020.jpg (82626 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_021.jpg (101326 bytes)

With a little help from some friends and other enthusiast at the show we ran a belt to and old farm tractor to turn it over and adjusted on it until we had it running on it's own!

O.A.T.A._6-2006_023.jpg (136775 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_014.jpg (92480 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_024.jpg (116742 bytes)  O.A.T.A._6-2006_022.jpg (123119 bytes)

It sat and run for 2 hours until it ran out of fuel
